SENIOR RESERVE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL- Disappointment for the lads as they were second best to a tenacious Nab team in Saturday’s final. Harps were slow out of the blocks and Nab led by four after 20 minutes before Harps finally woke up and controlled the final 10 minutes. A goal from Gareth Grimley and points from Colm McGrail and Conor Murphy helped Harps into a deserved lead, 1-02 to 0-4 at the break. However Harps failed to capitalise on this advantage on the restart and Nab took a two point lead within 10 minutes before a fortuitous goal left it an uphill struggle for Harps. Despite a gallant last 10 the boys were unable to make up the lost ground and were disappointingly beaten by 6 points.
Unfortunately on this occasion the boys put in a very much below par performance in what had been a very promising season. However this young team will learn from the experience and they and Bainisteoir Peter Quigley can look forward to future success.
